Can anyone try to help me on an issue i had? Recently my computer died and everything got deleted and i had to re-install windows, avg, norton and mcaffe did not pick up anything on a daily basis what was it, common misfunction or sneaky virus?

Depends, computers generally give you a hint as to what has happened even if they are missing an OS, without such info it could even be that a tiny Hamster crawled up the power cable and ate all the data.
Could be hard drive, could be user, might be evil software but i doubt it. If the data appears to have vanished then its best to put the drive in a working machine as a second drive and you maybe able to recover something depending on what caused the problem. This wont work if you have already 'fixed' the problem. |

He reinstalled windows so recovering data would be very hard if you did not have separate partitions one for Windows the rest for data/movies/software, etc.
Run chkdisk on your drive and check your system and application logs for any warnings. If you do see warnings after a fresh format and install then the problem is more then likely hardware related. |
