Can anyone try to help me on an issue i had? Recently my computer died and everything got deleted and i had to re-install windows, avg, norton and mcaffe did not pick up anything on a daily basis what was it, common misfunction or sneaky virus?

Depends, computers generally give you a hint as to what has happened even if they are missing an OS, without such info it could even be that a tiny Hamster crawled up the power cable and ate all the data.
Could be hard drive, could be user, might be evil software but i doubt it.

If the data appears to have vanished then its best to put the drive in a working machine as a second drive and you maybe able to recover something depending on what caused the problem. This wont work if you have already 'fixed' the problem.

He reinstalled windows so recovering data would be very hard if you did not have separate partitions one for Windows the rest for data/movies/software, etc.

Run chkdisk on your drive and check your system and application logs for any warnings. If you do see warnings after a fresh format and install then the problem is more then likely hardware related.
