Yeah, they dont say there is anything on the game server. I guess it is only using admin.listplayers and the TS channels to miror squads 0-8. Its a simple but a good idea.
In theory you should be able to get a BF3 server to run Python scripts. I think thats intended for anti cheat. There is a function called admin.movePlayer which sets a squad as well as a team so I guess the TG TS script could be expanded to work the other way around, detect you in a channel and move you to the squad on the game server. Only obvious problem with the current implementation is using ip as a unique id - cant think of a better and equally practical way but it doesnt seem ideal. |
