The vehicles and people don't show up till you start the BattleRecorder demo. Press 1 to pause, 2 for normal speed, and 3 for slo mo.

Yep sounds like your problem solved there. Thanks ebug. :D
Also remember, some objects don't show up in Sandbox mod when recorded into a bfr. ;)

BattleRecorder/freecam they're the same thing.
Once you've selected your demo from the list, click record new track. It should ask you to name it. This will be what you render so choose your camera movements/follow your character as if you were recording what you see. (1 to pause, 2 for normal speed and 3 for slo mo once the demo loads)
When your finished recording, open the console with the tilde key (`) or End and type "demo.shutdownDemo" (without quotations) to close the game. You should be back at the BF log in screen now. (If Battlefield refuses to start after this step, check your processes running in your task manager. Sometimes it'll close the window but BF will still be running in the background.)
Find the file you just recorded (from the list in BattleDirector) and click Render Video. Once the game loads, choose the setting you wish to record with. I recommend using Sir. XaliaS's guide for rendering (http://www.sircommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=228). It's best to do this at night while you sleep because it'll take quite a while to render.

SO your saying to click record new track name it and then go into the game and reord a demo??? It's quite hard to understand. Could you make a video tutorial using camtasia studio or similar?
