Hello Sir. Community, I was just thinking, well I need a better computer. I currently have an eMachines T5212. It has an "Intel Pentium D processor running at 2.66MHZ. I have 1024MB of DDR2 memory/RAM. Here is a Youtube link for a review on a machine like it.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSSlFz2Roa4.
My Video card is an "ATI Radeon Xpress 200 with a pci slot available. I have a 181 gigabyte Hard Drive. The operating system I am running on is Windows XP Media Center Edition. I would like upgrading to Windows Vista, but not until "SP 1" comes out. I am using a 19" wide screen monitor. Out of my 181 gigabyte hard drive i have 154 gigabytes left. As many of you also know I play BattleField 2, I have all sub-divisions of the game installed( Special Forces, Euro Force, and Armoured Fury) All together I believe this takes up about 5 gigabytes of my hard drive. If there is a way to make this computer better and not buy a new one, then by all means give me some examples. (Please do not say "Wow, your computer sucks" I already know that, so don't make an asshole out of yourself)
Other information: I got this computer for Christmas of '06.

Hmm. That's tough.
From that video, I think they got paid quite alot to do that...

As with your poblem, it is big. What do you intend to run on your machine? Future games? Current games? Or just to do your homework on? Tell us your budget also.

I plan to play current games, I also do my homework on it sometimes, but mostly video games. My budget is 20-40 dollars a month as in my allowance for 5-10 months, I plan to stretch out my spending. If though, my computer does "die" I will be getting a new machine from my parents. (I'm only 12 years old).

Let's talk business.
From looking at your budget your pockets are looking a little small at the moment. With an eMachine you will not be able to get the best out of the life of a gamer. Including the ability to upgrade, expand, etc.

I would highly recommend waiting until Christmas as your current income is insufficient to purchase a good performing PC to play current games on at least medium settings. If you do not have at least $800.00 on hand then you will only have to spend more then intended down the road (6-months). At such a small income you would have to wait years to before you can get a machine that will be decent to play one without driving you insane because it is slow.

Can you afford it:
Sorry to say but the answer is no not at this time. I know you may want a faster more powerful PC, but now is not the time for you to do so with your current income, maybe when you get older and have a larger cash flow coming in then you can get something pretty decent. Until then be good for Christmas.

Though I do give him credit for being the only 12 year old that can spell. :)

Christmas is a good bet. Don't pull out all your savings just to buy a 1337 machine at your age, you don't need it.

At 12 years old, a dell would be appropiate :) Also, with dell, his parents could finance it, and instead of receiving an allowance, the money would be going towards the computer pay off.

For a 1500 dollar dell, the finance is about 30-35 a month. A tricked out dell would last him 4-5 years without an upgrade.

Edit: You spelled def's name wrong. It's Fatdef.

Another 1GB ram would help you out a lot. Especialy if your planning on running Vista. You could also upgrade your CPU but you wouldn't have to many choices there. You also need a video card if you plan on playing the latest video games.

You could get a new motherboard and CPU for under $200
